Jordan & Amanda
Sweet southern Austin wedding
Amanda and Jordan are two of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. They are both funny, kind, charismatic and loving. When we met them for the first time last year, it was one of those perfect coffee meetings where you barely even talk about the wedding because you’re talking about life, adventures, where they met, the things that are most important to them, and also busting out in to laughter in a quiet coffee shop because they’re absolutely hilarious. Then, we all caravanned out to Big Bend for their engagements and camped out together. We truly spent so much time getting to know these two over their engagements, it felt like photographing a life-long friends’ wedding.
Their wedding day was such a relaxing, stress-free, joyous day. Absolutely nothing went wrong! And, really, I feel like if it had – Amanda & Jordan wouldn’t have even noticed, which is what makes for a truly amazing day. Ellen, of Westcott Weddings, effortlessly planned everything and we could not recommend her more highly. She and Amanda designed a beautiful, subtlety Fourth of July inspired Fourth of July wedding day.
One thing I admire and adore about both Amanda & Jordan is how effortlessly they love people. No matter what is going on, how many people are around, when you’re talking to them – they have this ability to make you feel like you’re the only thing that matters right now. When we arrived for the day and walked in to see Amanda, as she’s getting her hair done, she immediately wrapped me up in this huge hug and started asking me all of these questions about our recent travels and our move to a new apartment; every question specific and thoughtful. Then, before the ceremony, I walked out to see Jordan and to get some detail photos and he came up to me and said, “Kelsey, how are you doing? Do you have everything you need? Can I get you anything?” They just blow my mind. On this huge, crazy day full of excitement and jitters and nerves, they were still going around making sure that the people they loved were being taken care of. They weren’t about making the day all about them, they wanted the day to be about them and everyone they love. Which is really what made this wedding feel like a big, warm hug that I would love to revisit over and over again. They are truly two one-of-a-kind individuals who love one another very, very well and I have no doubt in my mind that their marriage (and life) is going to be full of so much love, so much adventure and so much laughter (because these two are also goofy as hell).
