Best of 2017
Wow, you guys. Just wow. That’s the first thing that comes to mind when I start thinking about 2017. This post was so hard to put together (it literally took me two months). We were able to capture so many beautiful wedding days and moments, for so many wonderful people. Since there are just so many images, I’ve put them in order chronologically. It just seemed like it would flow best. Be prepared for a long post, but such a good one (AND I’m pretty positive that I’ve STILL forgotten so many images I love – which I guess means it’s finally time for me to start updating the blog again).
2017 is the year I feel like we experienced the most growth in consistency, in client experience, and we feel better than ever about the galleries we’re delivering. We worked so hard behind the scenes to systematize & organize, to make everything more seamless and easy so that we could focus on the art form of weddings (and go back to having a personal life). Going in to 2018, we are so ready to focus on putting out even more artistic, beautiful work and pushing ourselves creatively, while continuing to form relationships with our couples and to always capture the feeling and vibe of their wedding day.
Let’s do this.
If you want to see any full blog posts (well, the ones I’ve finished), just click the image and it’ll take you there!
Here’s our most listened to playlist we think you should put on as a soundtrack to our favorite parts of 2017.
Probably one of the most exciting things to happen this year was that we got two magazine covers!! Both of which were a complete surprises, and both of which we are extremely proud of & in love with. Our Colorado Elopement shoot was featured on Rocky Mountain Bride and the other for the Brides of Austin gown shoot, Untamed!
(ps: all the film scans from PhotoVision, as always!)
Personally, it was just a really fun year. We took our longest trip ever, to Iceland & Paris for THREE weeks in July – AND we got to shoot real, inspiring love in each spot which was truly a dream come true. It was inspiring and fulfilling and exhausting and mesmerizing all at once. We will definitely be putting together a big blog post of our travel images but I haven’t even gotten around to editing them which is nuts, haha!
I also did my first two weddings and styled shoot (which I also shot) as a florist (one for my best friend and one for a friend in Seattle), which was truly an exhausting creative flurry. I’ve always been infatuated by floral design and it was so great to flex my creative brainwaves in a new way, of course all with the help of my hot and strong husband. I’m not sure in what way I will manifest my newfound love in the future, but for right now I’m just letting it be and taking any chance I can to play with florals.
Here’s our Instagram Top Nine, full size. Full of love.
Now, for some of our favorite moments of the year, starting where all the adventures begin, engagements (with some anniversary sessions thrown in because why not)!
