Emily & David | Nature-inspired Austin Wedding
May 13, 2017

One of our favorite days. We met Emily & David in Spring of 2016 and, since, have become incredibly close friends (and found out we were neighbors!). Emily & David worked so hard on making their wedding day full of thoughtful, beautiful, artistic and nature-inspired details. All of their family and friends were traveling in from various parts of northern and eastern United States, and very few of them had even visited Austin, so they wanted them to have an incredible time at their Austin destination wedding (spoiler alert: they all did)! We got to use some badass smoke bombs throughout the day, a detail that Emily & David really wanted to incorporate, so we all made sure that enough time was set aside in the timeline so we’d have time to do some experimenting and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

One of my favorite moments of Emily & David’s wedding, besides all of that sweet, dreamy light (you may not know this, but we offer an add-on to all of our brides to have us come out to the venue before the wedding and help them layout the wedding day based on where the best light is, what would photograph best and what would flow best based on our experience and we did this with Emily & David which was a blast!), was right after their teary first look, when Emily gave David her gift. Knowing them personally, we knew the story behind this which was so thoughtful, we want to share! When Emily & David were dating long distance, David decided he would move to NYC to be with Emily full time… but, in order to do that, he had to sell his Hassleblad camera to afford the move. He never regretted it, but did always miss the camera. So, after months and months of searching, Emily found a vintage Hassleblad camera and gave that to David (he was shocked!) as a wedding present, along with a loving note about how they’ve come full circle.

We worked with a killer vendor team, check them out here!
