We met in a coffee shop,
and the rest was history…
After over 12 years of being in love and photographing together, we've learned a thing or two about working as a team. Because we've always photographed weddings together, we've learned and perfected a routine that allows us to know where the other person is & where their shooting expertise lies -- not to mention that unspoken communication you acquire as a couple. Having gone through the process of wedding planning & hiring a photographer, we understand the true importance of having beautiful imagery that you are proud to have as an heirloom and honors the experience of being at such a big milestone in your life; we love every second of getting to create this art for our couples.
You can pretty much always find me with a book and a journal in my bag, and cold brew in my hand. I have a constantly growing houseplant addiction, and my favorite place to be is in a garden. Deep conversations fill my soul. I believe in good energy and that there’s magic all around us – in the collective joy we feel on wedding days, in the goodness of humanity, in the way an author can weave words that can bond strangers, in the serenity of the mountains, the beauty of windswept hair and in breathless laughter.
I’m drawn to photographing people and the connections they have, the way they interact, and creating meaningful experiences for the people I photograph. Figuring out how to take the intangible feelings of being human and translating those into art is a journey I’ll never tire of. I love shooting things that are a little wild, a little messy, and feel like they might’ve just been a dream.
There are few things more fun to me than playing a new board game, the nerdier the better. I love all things science-fiction, and definitely think about time travel more than the average person. I feel most at home in the mountains, with Kels by my side. I believe that every new day is awesome and completely worthy of being the greatest day ever, and that no wedding day will ever be the “perfect” day but an imperfect representation of how damn awesome life is.
I’m drawn to photographing architectural lines and environmental shapes, and how people interact with and within those. I’m quiet and more reserved, so observing and capturing the moments happening around me comes naturally.
They have that deep-rooted, best friends, life-is-better-together kind of love. They are kind, quick to laughter, and don’t take life too seriously. They, too, are infatuated with creating a piece of living art for their loved ones to walk into and experience with them. They want their wedding to be an experience that isn’t cookie cutter or stuffy, but relaxed with intentional design elements that tell their story. They want their wedding photos to be candid and artful, nostalgic and modern, with the perfect dash of editorial. They don’t want to feel overly posed or like they’re in a production, but want to show up fully as themselves in front of the camera. They want images that show not just what their wedding looked like, but what it felt like to be there - the intangible, the imperfect, the true. Our kind of people value authenticity, the nostalgia of film, kindness and equality, adventure, good energy, unique design, vulnerability, and a good dinner party. Ultimately, our dream clients are truly best friends who believe there is magic in the small moments.
